I recently ran across this article in the Washington Post that really touched me. I’ll probably write more about it later, but this article really embodied for me the reason why I’ve chosen this path for my life.
Do you think you would have stopped? If I was on my way to work in Southern California, I most likely wouldn’t have stopped. it really makes me glad I’ve changed my latitude (to steal a great advertising phrase).

Good to hear from you! Yeah, not many comments yet, but I didn’t let anyone know about the blog until a few hours ago, so I guess it’s to be expected. Hope to see you around here in the future. It’ll be good to see you guys in September.

Madman: as you know, I posted a similar commentary on my blog — including acknowledgment that once upon a time when I was living in DC that I wouldn’t have stopped either.
Every day we have choices, what life in Bella Toscana taught me. To stop and listen. To drink the rose’ wine on tap at lunch. To make new friends. To walk slower. To sit in the sun longer.
To breathe. To live.
Yup: You only get one life to live, and if you live it right, one should be enough.
hugs, V.
